Chris has written several plays, including;

Collingwood - a 45 minute drama with music based on the life and naval career of Vice Admiral Lord Collingwood
(1748-1810), produced and staged at the Royal Grammar School, Newcastle upon Tyne in July 2010 as part of the Collingwood 2010 Festival -  see a feature on the play from The Journal, 2nd July 2010.

Dick Whittington in Tinseltoon - a full length family pantomime based on my illustrated children's
story Tinseltoon (see above) Produced at the People's Theatre, Newcastle upon Tyne
in December 1999 (See season leaflet for show)

Bridging the Gap -  Tyneside Irish Centre, Newcastle Playhouse,(Gulbenkian Studio), followed by
a tour to Fleadh Nua Festival, Ennis, Co. Clare 1994 (programme here). Preview from The Journal.
Revived for the Tyneside Irish Festival 2001

Riding England Sidesaddle - People's Theatre, Newcastle upon Tyne and at the Theatre Royal,
Richmond, Yorks 1993. (Reviews and cast list). This production featured the young Andrea Riseborough.

An adaptation of selected works of Bernard Shaw, called I Like This People's Theatre as a tribute
to the People's Theatre's close association with Shaw on the occasion of the theatre's 90th
anniversary in 1991. (Programme here; press previews here from Evening Chronicle and The Journal.)

Adaptation and rewriting of the Victorian melodrama Maria Marten for a production at the
People's Theatre, Newcastle upon Tyne, in 1987.

Chris has also written Murder Mystery dramas for hotels and corporate entertainment venues,
such as Murder by Candlelight for Lumley Castle Hotel, Chester-le-Street, Co. Durham


Chris is currently developing and writing two dramas:

Mostra - a play with music based on an adaptation of "An Essay on Musical Expression" (1752)
